We’re not neutral when it comes to protecting our planet.
That’s why the new Navigator Eco-Neutral was designed to neutralize its own carbon footprint.
At The Navigator Company we’re aware that the health of our planet is determined by everyday choices. Rethinking our routines is key. Taking action and choosing products that help reduce carbon emissions.
Reset your habits and choose Navigator.
So, how do we make it work? Simple.
As pioneers in carbon offsetting projects in Europe, we had to team up with top entities, in order to achieve the most serious results.
Firstly, we use CEPI’s (Confederation of European Paper Industries) carbon footprint framework for paper and cardboard products - The 10 Toes - which is the methodology used by most European paper makers.
This program consists of 10 steps, each of them analyzing a different stage of the production process and its carbon footprint.

We also team up with EURO-GRAPH, the European Association of Graphic Paper Producers, to execute their forest to the mill-gate/warehouse approach.
Based on CEPI’s Guidelines, it allows for the outcome of a real and accurate carbon footprint, which is normally presented in units of kg or g of CO2 equivalent (e.g. per tonne of product produced).
These calculations take into consideration the bounderies of the cut-off criteria, as well as conversion factors adopted along the latest version of the manual used by EUROGRAPH members.

Why are we doing this?
Because our climate is changing.
And that’s a fact.
According to MIT, if we don’t act now, our planet will reach an increase of 5.3o in its average temperature by 2150.*
Actually, a new report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPPC)** shows temperatures rising even more quickly than expected while showing the long-term effects of increased CO2 in the air.
This is why consumers need to see real action from companies they trust.
With Navigator leading the way, the European paper industry is already a major player in the global effort to reduce CO2 emissions through the industry’s preeminent position in generation and use of renewable energy.

Feature-rich. Future-ready.
The entire carbon footprint of this ream, from the forest to the consumer, has been offset, including emissions associated with producing fibres, other raw materials and fuels, with pulp and paper mills, purchased electricity and all transport.
This ream of lighter, yet thicker paper equates to 3 kg of fixed CO2.
This ream of lighter, yet thicker paper equates to 3 kg of fixed CO2.
By choosing this ream, you enable the planting of trees that offset all of the fossil emissions linked to its production.
We know that forests are important assets for capturing CO2, we invest to nurture them.
CO2 fixation is maintained over time in the sheets of paper as they get archived or recycled.
The raw main fibre used Eucalyptus globulus allows the production of the same paper volume with 40% less wood than pine.
The basis for the CO2 offseting of this new product will be 2 pine plantation projects of 13 ha projects, located in Penamacor, Portugal.
